Second-years of other forms

In August, the Cantabrican form is similar to the Southern Atlantic form except that the primary moult is later (see above) and the legs are always flesh-coloured with no yellow or straw tinge. By February the Cantabrican form is apparently more retarded than the Southern Atlantic form with: a) flesh legs, b) less grey on the wings, c) some brown feathers remaining in the scapulars and back, d) more extensive, more solid and darker subterminal tail band.

In Iberia, there is considerable individual variation with some as retarded as Cantabrican and others as advanced as the Southern form.
