Coast, Malindi, Kenya (6/1-26/1): Mida Creek mangroves, 1 juvenile up at moderate height 8/1.

Hinterland to Malindi, Kenya (6/1-26/1): Jilore (lake), 1 female perched on dead tree 24/1.

Tsavo East National Park, Kenya (10/1-12/1): Voi Lodge area, 3 juvenile in low-level flight, 5 juvenile high-up over Lion kill area above large raptors, 2 juvenile perched in cover 11/1; Voi Lodge area, 1 juvenile in low-level flight, 1 juvenile perched on mound 12/1.

Kenya Summary 6/1-26/1: total 14 birds; 1 female, 13 juvenile; 12 at Tsavo on safari, 1 in mangroves on coast, 1 at large inland lake; 4 perched in cover, 4 in low-level flight, 1 up at some height, 5 up over Lion kill above large raptors.

Tarifa, Spain (4/9-14/9): migration counts: 5/9: 29 S over W (Los Alcornocales), 6 S over Tarifa port; 6/9: 2 S over Tarifa port; 7/9: 113 S over Tarifa port; 8/9: 16 SW (from ridge to N, crossing W Straits) and 8 SE (over Tarifa port); 9/9: 0; 10/9: 0; 11/9: 50 SE over Tarifa port; 12/9: 4 S over W (Los Alcornocales), 17 NE in drift over beach, crossing Straits at Tarifa port; 13/9: 0; 14/9: 0. Total: 245. The Honey-buzzard seen were decisive, except on 12/9 when some retreated from the Atlantic side to the NE before crossing over Tarifa port.

Gibraltar (14/9-18/9): migration counts: total 1; 15/9: at 17:45 3 Honey-buzzard soared and glided S.

North Yorkshire 2/10: a juvenile over a copse at Thirsk Racecourse.

Devon 14/10-18/10: 2 juvenile SW at Bulverton Hill, 1 from resting at wood, other moving from NE to SW 17/10.
